The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation Disaster Preparedness Unit hosted a 3-day Shelter Managers Training for the Linstead Zone, at the Linstead Primary and Junior High School, East Avenue, Linstead, August 15 to 17, 2017.
Linstead Town Centre Increases Awareness of Citizens in Northern St. Catherine
Several summer workers were in August 2017, tasked with handing out flyers and brochures to persons in the streets of Linstead. This sensitization exercise was geared to publicize the services offered at the Linstead Town Centre, and increase awareness of citizens living in Linstead and communities within Northern St. Catherine.
MONTEGO BAY, St. James (August 28, 2017): The St. James Municipal Corporation has embarked upon a sidewalk rehabilitation programme that has received major funding from the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF).
The programme is aimed at improving sidewalks and drainage systems along a number of streets throughout downtown Montego Bay.
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Revenue Collection Officer is responsible for executing the following duties:
Establishing policies, principles and methodology for the setting and amending of local rates, user fees and license fees to adequately finance the Council’s operations.
Enhancing the Council’s revenue collection machineryand implementing more effective remedies and penalties to deal with non-compliance.
